Heart Open ConversAsians
A thoughtfully curated space where intentional and honest conversations are had and held for and with a community I hold near and dear to my heart: the Asian collective. Every month, you’ll hear a guest join me in conversation, followed by a solo episode in the same month where I share and weave in my reflections and learnings from that conversation.
Together, we’ll exchange stories of our uniquely hard yet beautiful lives, our journeys, learned experiences and lessons, with the hope that it will encourage and empower you to live out your one precious yet nuanced life that is most true and most YOU. I’m that friend you can count on as we walk together on this journey to learn to embrace and make space for all parts of us. You’re welcome here.

Jess Goh: On Art As a Way of Life, Accepting Help, and Evolving Friendships
On today’s episode, I'm joined by a fellow Singaporean, one who claims herself to be "a very normal human and mama", but yet, there's something about the way she discussed and processed the things we touched on in our conversation that I saw a unique sparkle of a spirit alongside a healthy dose of stoicism that intrigued me.
Jess Goh Wee Teng is an art and crafts explorer who finds inner peace through creative expression. For Jess, art is more than a hobby; it’s a way of life that brings balance and deeper connections. Since 2017, she has inspired others through workshops that emphasize being present and engaged in the artistic process. Featured on MediaCorp’s “Get Fit with Me,” Jess also shares her passion as a music and movement educator.
We discussed:
- Her love for art and how art led her to finding a community of like-minded artists and freelance work as an art instructor getting to do what she loves often
- What maintaining a loving and healthy marriage where there is physical distance involved taught her about life, choices and, friendships
- Concepts of accepting help and how different friendships can serve as our lifeline throughout different stages of our lives
I hope you’ll enjoy this conversation as much as I did having it.
